Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information davidrinaldo.com collects through privacy-focused analytics, newsletter subscriptions, and contact forms, why it is used, and which service providers process it.

Data Collection

When you subscribe to my newsletter or request the free preset pack, I collect:

• Email address: Required to deliver email.
• First name: Optional, used to personalize email.

When you submit the contact form, I collect your name, email address, optional phone number, project type, and the project details you provide.

The public website uses a self-hosted Umami installation to collect aggregate usage information such as pages viewed, referring websites, browser and device type, approximate location, and visit duration. Umami does not use tracking cookies. URL query strings and fragments are excluded, and the tracker honors your browser’s Do Not Track setting. Analytics is not loaded in private client galleries.

Data Usage

I use this information only to:

• Send photography newsletters, updates, and requested preset delivery emails.
• Respond to photography inquiries and discuss requested services.
• Protect the forms from abuse using temporary, in-memory request limits.
• Understand which public pages are useful and improve the website.

Data Protection

The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Form submissions are validated by a self-hosted service that does not store submissions in a local database or write their contents to application logs. Analytics data is stored in a self-hosted database on the website’s server and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Newsletter information is retained by MailerLite until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Contact messages are retained by my email provider according to my normal correspondence and account-retention practices. Aggregate analytics records are retained for 24 months and then deleted.

Service Providers

I use service providers only where needed to operate the website and its forms:

• MailerLite processes newsletter subscriptions and delivers newsletter and preset emails.
• My email provider processes and stores contact-form messages so I can respond.
• DigitalOcean hosts the website and its self-hosted Umami analytics database.

I do not sell or rent your personal information. I may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the security and operation of the service.

Unsubscribe Option

You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time:

• Unsubscribe Link: Every email I send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Simply click the link to remove your email address from my mailing list.
• Manual request: You can use the contact form to request access, correction, or deletion of your information.

Policy Updates

I may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in my practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. I will notify you of any significant changes by email.
